For this student project, the assignment was to redesign the packaging of an existing product, Yogi Tea. The original boxes featured crisp, detailed illustrations that display a spread of the ingredients around a steaming cup of tea. I challenged myself to take a completely different approach, illustrating the essence of that particular flavor in abstract shapes and rendering them with a much looser medium. To me, this representation of the tea is more consistent with the founding principles of the company, aligning itself with the meditative and organic qualities of holistic living. This project was later chosen to be featured as a part of CMYK Magazine's "100 Top New Creatives" issue in 2013.
